Cyclone ‘Hudud’ to hit Andhra Pradesh on Sunday afternoon
The Cyclone ‘Hudud’ may hit the coast of Andhra Pradesh by the Sunday afternoon and the administration has been in the alert to safeguard people.
In a bulletin released by Indian Meteorological Department, it was informed, ”The deep depression over Andaman Sea and neighbourhood … intensified into a cyclonic storm ‘Hudud’ and lay centred at 8.30 a.m. today (Wednesday) over Andaman Sea and adjoining Bay of Bengal”.
It said, “It (cyclone) is now crossing Andaman and Nicobar Islands close to Long Island. It would continue to move and, intensified further into a severe cyclonic storm by Thursday and subsequently into a very severe cyclone, cross Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur by Oct 12”.
The cyclone is also expected to hit Odisha. People have started stocking essential household items that led to the brisk rise in the prices of vegetables and other eatables
