IAS OFFICER ARRESTED IN RECRUITMENT SCAM IN ODISHA
The anti-corruption vigilance wing on Friday arrested an IAS officer on the charge of irregularities in the recruitment of Revenue Inspectors when he was collector of Bolangir district.
Debraj Mishra, who was placed under suspension in September last after prime evidences were received against him, was arrested from his residence in the Bhubaneshwar on Friday morning, vigilance officials said.
Gross irregularities were found in the recruitment of RIs in Balangir district during Mishra's tenure as collector between August 2012 and July 2013, they said.
It was found that some candidates securing only two marks in the RI recruitment examination had been selected for jobs, while a candidate with 98 marks was denied appointment, they added
